Things to remember before going for an audition.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of us all? Or should I ask who is the best actor of us all? A question asked when one has to go for an audition. This and many more questions race through our minds as one gets ready to play the part that no man has ever played before. So ready steady and here we go to do our best in the audition we have been called for. Let solvemyproblemm.com Acting Expert takes you though the bucket list of things to remember before going for an audition.
Should I be myself or the character I am portraying?

Rule number 1 is ‘are you’. An important thing to remember is that, you are one of a kind and your uniqueness is what the director is looking for. Being you is the first step of scoring well in an audition. The requirements of the role and the way you handle it makes a lasting impression on your observers.
Have you thought of undergoing an image makeover?
Rule number 2 is ‘Make an impression’. The moment your name is announced you become the center of attention. Your entry into the audition room might make you or break you. Always remember too much or too little of anything is not good. Too much of over confidence or lack of confidence creates doubts in the mind of your watchers. Therefore, remember the impression you make when you enter the room will be the focal point of your career.
Would you like to learn a few makeup tips?
Rule number 3 is ‘Act’. If you want to be chosen for the role then you have to prove to the director that you can act. Remember that by copying or by mimicking others you will not be able to get the role. You have to stand out from the crowd and this you can do by acting the given role in a way that proves that you and you alone can act this role in this possible way. Put your feelings into your performance and make a point.
Do you know the latest happenings in the world of fashion?

Rule number 4 ‘Research’ before you attend the audition. Internet is at your service and before you go for the audition, remembers to find out something more about the play and the role you are auditioning for. A little more knowledge about your role will help you to do the role better rather than going with a blank mind for the audition.
Have you thought of honing your dancing skills at a dance class?
Rule number 5, ‘Enjoy’ on the stage. Whatever you do in life, always do with a happy heart. Acting is important and when you are on the stage leave behind all your grief’s and sorrows and concentrate on what you enjoy doing, acting. Put your feelings inside your performance; remember that the audience is waiting for you to make their lives more enjoyable and you can do that only if you are cool and calm and happy.
Do you want to learn more about tips on dialogue delivery?

Rule number 6 is ‘Never have excuses’. There is no place on the stage to thank you and sorry. Always remember that it is human to err and it is also human to cover up for the mistake you have made. Don’t let the audience realize where you went wrong, cover it up with a good mantle of acting. A person can do this only if one has confidence and has done one's research well. Never apologize for what went wrong, no need for tears and lengthy explanations. Leave it as it is. Do your homework well next time.
Do you want more acting auditions?
Rule number 7 says, your body language should speak ‘simplicity’. The role for which you are auditioning for is also being auditioned by many others. Therefore remember that your plain and simple acting will be observed and not your glamour or the previous roles that you have done. Keeping your act simple does not mean making it dull and boring, but instead see that it reflects your inner joy, your confidence and the ease in which you slip into the role of the character you are playing. Overacting is a no, no but the way you bring the character to life is an important part of your audition.
How to become a movie extra?

Rule number 8 is ‘Conquer your audience’. The people in the room watching you should never forget you. Make the room your own, act with the spirit of conquest. Don’t ask unnecessary questions and don’t make too many unnecessary actions. Concentrate only on what the role requires. Don’t find fault with the reader, do what you have come for doing, act. Your act should speak for you not your tongue.
